What a great night to be a part of KRWG! Last night’s visit by NPR’s Liane Hansen at the Rio Grande was an absolute joy.
About 150 KRWG supporters were entertained by the host of Weekend Edition Sunday (airing 8a – 10a) for well over an hour. Her stories concerning Will Shortz and the puzzle alone would have been enough. Liane’s presentation was filled with memories from over three decades in the industry, both good and bad.
I knew it would be our loss when she officially retires this coming Memorial weekend. I did not understand just how great our loss will be until listening last night. The class she exhibited while meeting people after the show was remarkable for a national personality.
We need to thank Silver City artist Judith Meyer for the necklace that was presented by Delano Lewis at the close of the show. The impromptu Hansen/Lewis tap dance routine really should have been videotaped!!!!
