It’s been such a busy month that I just had a chance this weekend to read through my December Airwaves. I found two intriguing shows that I plan to watch this week and next.
One of my favorite memories of Christmas in Santa Fe was taking my daughter to the local performance of “Peter and the Wolf.” Now Great Performances will tell the story on Wednesday, December 8 at 7 pm. I missed the animated version’s debut in 2008, and this might be the opportunity to enjoy it visually as well as musically.
The idea of patterns within irregularity is a concept that has fascinated me for years. NOVA will explore the development and practical uses of fractal geometry to decode the patterns on Tuesday evening, December 14, at 7 pm. We should be able to see how artists and programmers use fractals to give life to art.
