El Paso Brass Concert

From Glen Cerny – Director of Broadcasting

Wow!  What a night!  Great holiday tunes mixed with some wonderful Jazz and more than a dash of humor made for an entertaining evening for all at the Rio Grande Theatre last night.  In fact, I’m not sure if the El Paso Brass or the huge audience had more fun.

My sincere thanks to El Paso Brass members Sam Trimble, Ken Capshaw, Richard Lambrecht, Allan Kaplan, Jim Shearer, plus guitarist Curt Warren.  Our appreciation is also extended to the Dona Ana Arts Council and the staff of the Rio Grande!!

It was also a nice surprise to be a part of La Iguanas grand opening next door.  A lot took advantage of the occasion to check out the menu and welcome this new addition to downtown Las Cruces.

The concert marked the last event of the year for KRWG at the Rio Grande!  Bob Burns and Benjy Rivas’ staff concert, a visit from old friends Steve Smith, Chris Sanders and Hard Road, an evening with Liane Hansen and, finally, the El Paso Brass all combined to create some great memories from the place.

January 23rd we will start things up again at the Atkinson Recital Hall at NMSU with The Jim Cullum Band.
Hope to see you there!!
