Prairie Home Companion

From Glen Cerny – Director of Broadcasting

This looks like it could be a lot of fun on Prairie Home Companion this weekend!

Garrison to guest on his own show on Jan. 15
Keillor and Sara Watkins swap roles just for fun
On the January 15 episode of A Prairie Home Companion, host Garrison Keillor and guest Sara Watkins will swap roles — with Keillor acting as a guest and Watkins acting as host.
Watkins, alumna of the bluegrass-tinged acoustic trio Nickel Creek, will introduce the show by singing the Tishomingo Blues: "O hear that old piano / From down the avenue." Keillor will be the show's featured guest, acting out his parts as Guy Noir and Lefty, and of course, delivering the News from Lake Wobegon.
"For once in my life," Keillor says. "I want to stand in the back of the hall and watch for a few minutes. And Sara is a smart and funny and hugely gifted young woman ... It'll be fun."
Hope you enjoy it at 6pm Saturday and Noon Sunday on KRWG!
